The Netherlands Embassy in Bratislava, Impact HUB Bratislava, Solved and the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic jointly organise a hackathon to develop new applications in the field of EU big data and transparency. Programmers, developers, diplomats, students and active citizens are welcomed to join forces during a two-day event in Impact HUB Bratislava. The main topic of the hackathon will be ‘Transparency & the EU: Opening the Black Box of Brussels’. Participants can select one of the two challenges listed below to build into a practical application;
– How can start-ups & SMEs use EU open data for practical business applications?
– How can active citizens use open data to improve quality of life in the EU?
Teams of 4 participants will be compiled during the first evening session of the hackathon. Also, mentors from both the Netherlands and Slovakia will coach your team on a rotating basis.
1. Besides winning a free trip to Amsterdam in June to pitch your solution in front of an international jury at Transparency Camp Europe, the winning team will also receive 5 hours of business consultancy, provided by our partner Solved.
2. The second team takes home a financial prize of €600, as well as 5 hours of business consultancy support by our partner Solved.
